Arguement

When writing an agruement paper, there are some things I like a lot and some I don't like so much. Some thing I really liked was how the set up of the paper was. There was a title page and it just made it easier for me. I also liked how you can chose whatever topic you want and you use facts to support your opinion. Some thing I didn't like was that I felt like I didn't know how much to write. I had all the facts, but it wasn't coming together as I wanted them to.

Arguement

My mom believed that I went into my sisters room and stole her straightener. I told her I did not. We argued about this for a while and we went back and forth with different points. I told her that I was not in Taylor's room because I hadn't even been upstairs yet that day. She didn't believe me, she asked me who else would've taken it. I said I don't know but it for sure wasn't me. My sister then came downstairs and announced that she found her straightener and she had it all along.

Logical Fallacies

The fallacy that I think I have heard of or seen the most would be the hasty conclusions one. Hasty conclusions is when you have one piece of evidence and then you assume something. For example, All girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch shop only at that store. So if I saw a girl that was wearing Abercrombie and Fitch I would automatically assume that she only shops at that one store. I think that this one is a very common fallacy. Its probably the most common in verbal arguements, your trying to prove your point so any type of information you get you will assume something about it.

Personal Essay

I liked a lot of things about my personal essay. It was really easy for me to write because the situation happened over my senior year so all the details were fresh in my head. Also, I liked it because it was easy to get four pages. I felt like I had done a good job. What I didn't like was that I felt like because of the limit in pages, I couldn't give enough detail about the essay and everything that happened to me. I feel like if I was able to add that to my paper it would flow a bit better and also it would help my point.

Possible Topic For My Personal Essay

The topic i am thinking about writing about is the one about my senior year. My senior year was extremely rough and it was because of my three "best friends". They didn't like the fact that I was friends with more people than just our clique. They decided to start to not inviting me to things, ditch me for drinking, and even start rumors the entire school became aware of. Even though they continuously put me down, I am a much better person today because of it. I am physically and emotionally stronger. I think this would be a good story to write about because there is enough to write about and it is a major turning point in my life. My life has not been remotely the same since and I'm so happy because of it.

Exigence

I was at my friend Adam's house relaxing, when I got a phone call from my mom. She said she couldn't pick up Taylor, my sister, so I needed to go get her right away so she can make it to volleyball on time. I was aggravated at first, and moved myself towards the door. I unlocked my car, got in, and turned the key but nothing happened. Stress overwhelmed me immediately. I couldn't get my car to start. I tried everything. After about ten minutes I had Adam's whole family outside worrying with me and helping me out. Finally his dad did the trick, and I made it to Taylor's school with 2 minutes to spare.

First Day at Mankato

My first day here was crazy. The lines were extremely long and ridiculous. First you had to get in line to get your key, then out to the car to unload, then back in line to borrow a flatbed cart, then back outside to load everything on it, then in line for the elevator where I proceeded to move a foot every 5 to 10 minutes. The floor I'm living on is the highest one up, 12. Room 1212 to be exact. Moving in was very very hectic. It was also extremely hot outside and there is no air conditioning. Me and my roommate got everything unpacked and situated. My family and I went out to get our books and eat food. We also stopped by walmart to pick up some more supplies for my room. Me and Katie's room actually coordinated. We found out very quickly that we were very simular. After the family bbq my family headed out. Katie and I hung out for the rest of the night. All in all it was a hectic but rewarding day.
